Join us for a multilingual workshop that brings cultures together through Japanese origami!
A fun and family-friendly event where participants of all ages can explore the art of Japanese paper folding. Through hands-on activities, families will learn about origami, create their own mobile and experience the joy of transforming simple paper into beautiful hanging sculptures.
The workshop is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels, with no prior experience in art required. You can pop by at any time between 13.00 – 15.00 and stay as long as suits you. Children are expected to be accompanied by an adult.
Instructors are Yasuka Kawakami, who will share the art of Origami from her home country Japan and the Icelandic artist Ingunn Fjóla Ingþórsdóttir. The instructors combined speak Japanese, Icelandic and English.
This workshop is part of the event series, Together, organized by the Culture Houses of Kópavogur in collaboration with GETA aid organization, with the goal of enhancing inclusiveness and promoting intercultural understanding.
