Welcome to a school visit where Gerðarsafn’s current exhibitions and collection are the basis for a conversation about art, interpretation and creative thinking. Guides and workshops are offered for students of all school levels. The museum offers guided tours of the current exhibitions every weekday to schools free of charge. The visit lasts about an hour, but a shorter or longer visit can be arranged upon request. Guided tours are by appointment and are free of charge for schools. Below you can see basic guides about the current exhibitions and Gerðarsafn’s collection, but you can also request a customized guide.

School groups are welcome to come to the museum without the guidance of a museum teacher. It is recommended that groups arriving on their own inform the museum of their arrival.
